As we prepare for our
three-year anniversary celebration this weekend, we wanted to share some of our defining moments in OBC history over the last 7 years.
Despite our daily duties and rigorous schedules for supplying Georgia and Alabama with a true labor of passion, we wouldn’t be here today without our family.
After Robert and Stephanie decided create OBC on 12/12/12, OBC’s current building was purchased in March of 2013. Construction and renovation began and our original brewmaster, Nick Fowler, created the core brand recipes to start testing brands.
Small Batch production began in early 2014.
The first beer order was sent to market via B&B Beverage in Columbus in July of 2014.
August, 2014: The first and extremely epic tap takeover at Maltitude!
April 2015: Nick filling our second batch of Jack Daniel’s barrels with The General’s Select!
June 2015: Construction continued on our expansion facility to house the new 30-BBL, 4-vessel automated brewhouse.
August 2015: The new brewhouse was delivered and put in place.
February 2016: The first batch of Nada-Banana Hefeweizen was packaged from the new brewhouse.
March 2016: The tasting room bar was complete just in time for our 1-year anniversary.
July 2016: The first order of cans arrived!
June 2017: The first farm-to-pint release with the cucumber-watermelon gose.
July 2018: Gnat Knocker hells lager was added to the core-brand lineup and the relationship with Realtree Outdoors began.
November 2018: OBC launched into the Savannah / Coastal Georgia market. Pictured above was the official launch party at World of Beer Savannah.
April 6, 2019: OBC’s three year anniversary celebration.
Three-years at the tasting room and nearly five years with beer on the market, we can’t thank our family enough for their support. We look forward to seeing you all at our anniversary celebration and here’s to many more pints of OBC!
