Since new legislation has taken effect as of September 1, the OBC family has kept a consistent selection of tasting-room-only brews available. One-hundred different beers since the tasting room was opened in April 2016, to be exact.
"Even before the new laws kicked in it's something that has always been a priority for us," said owner Dr. Robert Lee. "Not only have we been able to keep more variety inside the tasting room, but we have also been able to send small batches out to the market as well. We are doing our best to showcase a broad range of styles, but still keep the Omaha feel to everything we do."
In October, Omaha released multiple traditional German-styles, including CTRL+ALT+DEELETE, a German-style Altbier, and Bananaskaner, a German-style dunkelweizen.
Moving forward through November, OBC has plans to release several new brews before the new year.
Blackberry Winter, a darker version of the traditional berliner weiss, is brewed with blackberries and is expected to be released mid-November.
Non-typical Bock, a German-style Bock, is a high-gravity lager expected to be released in late November.
Southern Gentleman, an American brown ale brewed with Richland Rum cane syrup, will be released in late November as well.
As the holiday season draws near, OBC will also be hosting a General's Select holiday event in mid-December, featuring multiple limited release barrel-aged and high-gravity beers in the General's Select series. Stay tuned in the coming weeks for more details.
